Hawaiian Telcom Raises $40,000 for June Jones Foundation
Hawaiian Telcom has raised $40,000 for the June Jones Foundation. Founded in 2004 by University of Hawaii head football coach June Jones, the Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of families with seriously ill children and other charitable causes.
Hawaiian Telcom raised the funds by donating $5 from each myChoice bundle (local, long-distance and High-Speed Internet service) sale from August through December of 2007 to the Foundation. Hawaiian Telcom was also the title sponsor of the June Jones 5K Run & Walk held in August.
“We’re pleased to support the June Jones Foundation and its mission to make a difference in the lives of seriously ill children and their families,” said Mike Ruley, Hawaiian Telcom’s chief executive officer. “When your child is ill, nothing else matters but getting them the care they need. We are humbled to partner with the Foundation on such worthy projects.
“Hawaiian Telcom, their employees and their customers have been incredibly supportive of the Foundation,” said June Jones. “We are proud of our relationship with the company. They represent the true meaning of aloha.”
